Sailing in Marseille

One of the most beautiful bays in the world, a string of islands as protective sentries, sun all the year round: what more can an enthusiast sportsman dream of? From the windsurfing spots of the Pointe Rouge and of the Prado where international windsurfers like to train, to the secret creeks of Frioul, chosen by those who love to see nature preserved, everybody can find a place to be themselves, for a morning, for a weekend, or for a week. From the Optimist   to the yacht, over the sailing dinghy and the catamaran, many sailing courses are offered by the various clubs and associations of Marseille for children and their parents.

The Patrouilles Bleues are present for those who practice water-based recreational activities, they prevent by informing about the environmental protection and the respect of the regulations. The bay of Marseille welcomes national and international activities linked to the sea such as  Septembre en Mer », the Juris  cup (symposium and sailing race of lawyers), la Route des Îles (sailing race Marseille-Corsica), le Championnat du Monde de Voile (sailing race), le Tour de France à la Voile (sailing race) and recently the Jeux Mondiaux de la Voile (sailing race) as well as the most famous catamaran race : The Race (sailing race around the world "without limits"). that will be back in Marseille in 2004.
